If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I have a thing for the whole PJs for outerwear look and have several items in my wardrobe that the hubby and girls have a) laughed at and b) asked why I’m going out in my pyjamas?
Not to be easily deterred by these comments I bought myself a couple of Kimono’s (aka dressing gowns) and over the summer months I wore these paired with white vest tops and jeans. Now over the Autumn cooler months I will be layering (as per Victoria Genevieve’s recommendation) with jumpers, leather jackets, jeans, trousers and boots.
To save you trawling through the sites here are some of my favourites for this Autumn/Winter. In fairness I think two retailers really stand out for Kimonos and they are New Look and Zara.
Some of the more luxe versions (the Zara gold version and the Zara Velvet version) could easily be worn with leather leggings, slinky camisoles and heels for the Christmas season. They would totally glam up already staple items in your wardrobe.
There are some easier to wear options for those of you not ready to swan around in a full length Kimono. I love the New Look ones for this. These look more like embroidered velvet jackets than Kimonos.
