Those of you that know me will know of my love for pleated skirts. Having had so many compliments for my H&M rust coloured pleated skirt (which sold out before I could even blink or share) I thought it only fair to bring you the current burgundy pleated skirt from H&M. Perfect for AW and incredibly versatile.
In a series called ‘Styled My Way‘ my aim is to bring you more items like this, things that I love – to show you how I would wear them and style them for different occasions.
I’m hoping that this will not only show you different ways in which to style a single item but also give you a feeling for whether or not you would truly get your wear out of it.
JUMPER/HOODIE + PLEATED SKIRT + TRAINERS = The ‘Casual Everyday’ Look
I love wearing my pleated skirts with jumpers, hoodies and trainers (as you can see here). This look ticks all my boxes, I look like I’ve made an effort, but I’m still comfortable and able to run around and get all my daily chores done in comfort. This look is very laid-back but at the same time sophisticated. It’s uncomplicated and easy to wear and it has an element of Scandinavian styling about it which I love.

Adding layers, different prints and textures adds to the casual look. The right Statement Cardigan, Army Jacket or Biker Jacket helps to elevate this look and makes it that little bit more luxe. The simplicity of this skirt means that it’s possible to add vibrant prints, colours and textures easily.

Smart jumpers, shirts and blouses together with heels make this skirt ‘work and evening ready’. I love clothes that are super versatile and can be dressed up or down. I’ve added a lot of black however I think this skirt would work well with pinks, whites, blues….it really depends on what you feel like.

With the right pair of shoes (or accessory) you can add a touch of glam, luxe or edge. This skirt and others like it are incredibly versatile. As you can see the options are endless and depending on your mood and weather dress it up or down how you choose. But remember…. have fun!
